Ellen is in Breaking Dawn

I had to share this, OMW I have been laughing so much and it is even funny the second time around!

Strategic Planning for watching a Season of a tv-show

Kobus and I started watching season one of Grey’s Anatomy last night..  This probably explains why I am feeling tired today!  I find when watching episodes of any kind, you need to have a system.  The steps are as follow:

  1. Calculate how long an episode is.  (Normally 40 minutes per episode)
  2. Determine what time you would like to go to bed.
  3. Now examine the amount of episodes you can fit into the allocated time.
  4. Make provision for toilet and coffee making breaks
  5. Start as early as possible.

Last night we made a couple of mistakes:  Firstly we made pancakes for dinner to celebrate the rain.  What we did not account for the time factor when making pancakes and thus started watching the episodes late.  We also watch the credits come and go after the 3rd and final episode we planned to watch finished and ended up watching another episode.

Oh well, we will probably do the same thing tonight.  And that while I have an early morning start at the farmers marker tomorrow!

All this equals to = a lesson not learnt :)

blog ramblings

I’m not sure what happened to my blog there for a moment, but I am glad to report that it is all is back up and running.

For a moment there I was however toying with the idea of starting from scratch, no archive, no nothing.  But then again, who am I kidding.  I love my archives, most of it anyway – maybe the way forward is registering my domain and self-hosting.

I want to.

I’m a bit scared of the unknown,

It is silly.  I should just take the plunge and do it.

Maybe not right now.  I will just finish my work and think of it again tomorrow?

Maybe I just need some input again.  Tell me where is the best place to go for hosting again?

Over the weekend Kobus and I watched a film called “The Rebound”.  The plot of the story is something along the following lines:

Husband has an affair.   Wife files for a divorce and moves herself and the two kids to the city.  She finds a job, gets her life back on track and then her best friend advises that she now needs a rebound relationship.  Date means finding a nanny and luckily the cute boy from the coffee shop below her flat mentioned that he is a babysitter.  Very typical from these kind of films is that Mom falls in love with the boy nanny who is almost half her age.  She fights the urge to call it a relationship.  She gives up and call it a relationship.  Twist in the story and she breaks up with him because he is too young and according to her, things can never work because she is holding him back from his dreams.

This is pretty much where Kobus and I had a little difference in opinion about men and woman.  He felt that Mom was being unfair and not giving the relationship a chance.  I understood where she was coming from, I honestly think there is a big difference between a female dating a man much younger (we are talking 15 years younger) with kids on her side, no kids on his.  And a man dating a woman fifteen years younger, with or without kids.

So, what is your opinion?

**  Naturally as with all films of this kind.  Boy and Girl did meet again.  This film had a slight twist, I really liked the twist.  I think it is a lovely light film, perfect if your man is a Catherine ZetaJones fan.

A computer game kind of dream

So I know I am way behind most people – I saw the film before I even knew the books existed.  I won’t say this out loud, but my thoughts were – “what a teenage drama” and “I can’t believe everyone is making such a big deal of it”  Yet I started reading Twilight about a week ago:

  1. Knowing books are much better than films.
  2. Knowing that I will always wonder what everyone was on about when they made their oh and ah comments, with the Twilight this and Twilight that.

I’m nearly finished with the first book and I am glad to report that it is an enjoyable read.  I will read the other three books but I won’t buy the t-shirt or start (yet another) fan-blog.

I will however report that I had a dream this morning – I dreamt I was being hunted by vampires!  It was a pretty intense dream, similar to playing a computer game where you need to focus really hard because you are winning.  The kind where one irrational action could mean GAME OVER

So much so that Kobus battled to wake me up!

What are your thought regarding the Twilight Saga?  Have you read them?  It is worth reading the other three books?

Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk

This evening as I had a quick look to see what my fellow twitter friends were up to, @W_Ann posted the words:

“Something in your eyes makes me want to lose myself, makes me want to lose myself, in your arms.

There is something in your voice, makes my heart beat fast, Hopes this feeling lasts, the rest of my life”

By:  Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk

This reminded me of the film, “How to lose a guy in ten days”, which lead me to sing the three words that I knew.  Which always leads to You Tube.

I need to mention that I love this song!  It’s one of those songs that make it on your list of favourites without you meaning to ” Add” it.  It is magical and special and speaks to your heart!

Anyway, YouTube happens to link this song to  “The Notebook”, which happens to be one of Kobus’ favourite films.  I find meaning in the small things.  I now I am filing the song away for one special-white-day perhaps?  We will have to wait and see :)
